Kenton Karrasch

Bio

Kenton is a third-generation Nevadan, licensed to practice law in both Nevada and Utah. His early life was shaped by family transitions and custody arrangements, giving him a firsthand understanding of the challenges children and families face. That perspective continues to guide his approach to family law today.

After graduating from high school in Salt Lake City, he returned to Nevada to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Nevada. He went on to complete both his Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration degrees at Mississippi College in 2012. This dual background in law and business allows him to navigate complex family law matters—including estate planning, property valuation, and divorce litigation—with both legal insight and financial acumen.

Kenton’s professional experience includes serving as Assistant Director of Development for the University of Nevada, Reno Foundation, where he ensured nonprofit compliance and worked closely with donors on planned giving. From 2016 to 2018, he clerked for the Family Division of the Second Judicial District Court, working directly with judges and gaining invaluable insight into how Nevada family courts operate.

In addition to family law and estate planning, Kenton also practices Assisted Reproduction Technology (ART) law in Utah. He advises and represents clients in matters involving surrogacy, egg and sperm donation, embryo donation, and parentage proceedings—helping families of all kinds grow and thrive within a secure legal framework.

Dedicated to continual growth, Kenton completed the prestigious National Family Law Trial Institute’s flagship program in 2019, an intensive training designed specifically for family law litigators. This advanced advocacy experience allows him to bring sharper trial skills and strategic insight to every case he handles.

Today, at Surratt Law Practice, Kenton brings this breadth of experience to his clients, offering informed, compassionate, and strategic counsel.

Outside the office, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife, Christin, and their twins—a daughter and a son. Some of his favorite places include Bear Lake, Utah, and Disneyland, where he values time with family above all else.
